Historical Fiction Author Jessica James wins second John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction

Honored to announce that my Civil War novel Above and Beyond has been awarded the 2014 John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction.

Noble Cause won the 2011 Award, so I am a two-time winner!

Cooke was a Civil War soldier and one of the most important literary figures of nineteenth-century Virginia. A prolific author of historical adventures and romances, he holds a significant place in Virginia’s literary history and in nineteenth-century American literary culture.

I did a short post on my Life in the Past Lane blog.
