View from Balcony.

Left home with temperatures in the 30s and arrived at Myrtle Beach with temps in the 60s–a BIG difference.

This is the first leg of my journey to the Amelia Island Book Festival in Florida, and I’m already having a blast. I took a long walk on the beach as soon as I arrived here in Myrtle Beach, but haven’t really explored the resort where I’m staying. I know from the map they gave me that there are two pools and a lazy river where you can go tubing.

I won’t have time for that, as I will be heading out tomorrow to check out Georgetown and the surrounding area before heading to Charleston.

Dish Towels in Kitchen.

I do know the hotel goes the extra mile. Love how the handtowels in the bathroom and the dishtowels in the kitchen are folded. Even the toiletpaper was folded into a fan!

Wish I could stay longer, but will keep this place in mind to visit again (the Dunes Village).

Bathroom towels.

I’m really looking forward to visiting the “low country” of South Carolina, especially the area frequented by the Swamp Fox, General Francis Marion during the Revolutionary War. Will be exploring his territory tomorrow.

Hope you’ll stay tuned. There is plenty of history here that I want to share!
